The Mahrhof in Tesido – Holidays at the entrance to Gsiesertal

Our farm is a closed court and since 1862 in the possession of our family. We run a farm full-time farm with dairy cattle, homebred, 13 ha and 15 ha agricultural green forest. Our forest provides timber and fuel for the biomass heating system, which supplies our farm with heat and hot water. The farm is farmed extensively, ie that no chemical fertilizer is spread on the fields. We used to fertilize only the own manure (solid dung and liquid manure of the animals).
Our meadows are in close proximity to the farm. In summer these 2-3 are times mowed to harvest winter feed for the cows. This part is fermented into silage (fermented forage) in our silos. The remaining feed is dried (hay and Grumet). In autumn, the meadows are used for grazing.
Maybe you would like to help with the work in the farmyard and stables? Or be taken for a ride on a tractor? Farmers Anton and Andreas are more than happy to fulfil your requests – with us you can have first-hand experience of workaday life on the farm!
